“Guardians Of The Galaxy” was a big step for Marvel, taking their cinematic universe to outer space. “Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2” managed to hold on to the magic and charm of the first movie. The third installment is fairly close in the future. Surprisingly, Twitter is the source of the latest updates on “Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 3.” James Gunn and Mark Hamill had a conversation over Twitter about coming over to have coffee and discussing how Mark Hamill could have a role in “Volume 3.” It’s all over the internet, so a quick search could show you the exact conversation. It’s unclear what Mark Hamill would be doing in a Marvel movie, but he has experience with the whole space science fiction genre, so he should fit in well, even with the intense tonal differences. Another  update from James Gunn via Twitter was the revelation that “Baby Groot” isn’t a younger version of Groot like people assumed, but the son of Groot. This makes Groot’s sacrifice even more meaningful. “Infinity War” comes out this May, and “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3” isn’t set to hit theaters until 2020, so it’s safe to say that the movie will take place after the events of Marvel’s largest movie yet, which might make it vastly different than the previous two. “Infinity War” is a turning point for just about every character involved. In the words of Kevin Feige, “there will be two periods in the cinematic universe; before “Infinity War” and after.” “Volume 3” is in very early development, so it will be a while before we get more casting info or a release date, but maybe Mark Hamill will give something away.
