Romance movies have been widely popular in the cinema world for a long time. “Forever My Girl” is one of those all time favorites in the public’s eye. First released as a novel by Heidi McLaughlin, “Forever My Girl” is not far off from a Nicholas Sparks romance. This means if you are a fan of Sparks, you will love “Forever My Girl.” And if you are not? Well then consider yourself warned. The plot follows the life of country music superstar Liam Page(Alex Roe) who left his new bride and high school sweetheart, Josie(Jessica Rothe), in exchange for his fame and fortune. I’m sure you’re probably thinking “what a jerk”, but Liam suffers from choosing fame over love. He never gets over Josie and leaving his small southern town St. Augustine, Louisiana where he was born and raised. One day, Liam unexpectedly returns to his hometown for the funeral of his high school best friend. While Liam is there, he is faced with all the consequences he has left behind. These consequences include Liam having to face his pastor father, the love of his life, and the daughter, Billy, he never knew he had. Liam goes through many hardships back home, but luckily for a message from Josie that he listens to everyday, he holds on to love and hope even in the hardest of times. Liam wants to make amends for all the years that have passed since he left. He tells Josie he is sorry and he knows that he doesn’t deserve a second chance. Just like every romance movie, Josie decides to forgive Liam and the two decide to start a fresh journey with their daughter.
