The prolonged wait for new Ariana Grande music is finally over. Last Friday, Ariana released her newest song called “No Tears Left To Cry.” Prior to the release, Ariana and her manager teased the release of “No Tears Left To Cry” earlier in the week, with Grande tweeting the title upside-down along with the date “4.20.” Ariana hasn’t released anything new since 2016’s “Dangerous Woman”, so you can only imagine how excited fans were when they heard the new song. The song itself is a bop. Basically, Ari is pushing past grief. It is speculated that her cover work, where a rainbow crests her cheek, signifies when she performed “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” at One Love Manchester. Even though the song is very upbeat,  it has a deeper meaning. With lyrics such as, “we’re out here vibin” just shows how much Ariana has learned to let go of the past and live her life to the fullest. She starts out the song in ballad mode and goes to choral mode before a mid-tempo dance beast kicks in. When the chorus begins, Ariana lifts her voice for positivity– “Oh, I just want you to come with me/ We’re on another mentality”– before lowering it to the nearly whispered spoken-words “I’m lovin’, I’m livin’, I’m pickin’ it up.” Along with the song release, there is also a video for the new song. In the music video, Ariana wears a beautiful black ballroom dress as she moves up and down the walls of a skyscraper corridor. So if it takes two years to release a bop like “No Tears Left To Cry”, then it is definitely worth the wait.
