Team Building

An exhilarating season!

The Heritage High School Volleyball team started off great this season, and is continuing that path as they are already halfway through the season at 7-1. Mrs. Cadi Guest explains, “This year is a building year for the JV, as the core of the leadership from last year moved up to varsity. Our new leaders are taking their roles seriously and helping to move the team in a positive direction.” This is a great thing for them, especially because of the incoming freshmen that may be interested in some of the camps held by the volleyball team. As I was a part of the 8th grade team at the middle school, I know the current freshmen very well and have no doubt that they are stepping up to take care of business.

They will have a huge team-trust test this weekend, as they will be at the River City Rumble Tournament in Chattanooga. The purpose of the tournament is to display the teams of the area, and showcase their talent.

Mrs Guest then goes on to say, “ I am excited to see what my girls can do against these teams. It will definitely give some helpful insight to the games to come in our regular season,” and I could not agree more. Tournaments like the River City Rumble definitely bring out a team’s weakest points, as well as their strong ones. It’s almost like a pre-test or a form of midterm test.

As for the regular season, they have two big opponents coming up; Lafayette and Northwest. These teams have shown in the past that they are certainly ready to bring on the competition. Although it may be intimidating, from what I hear, the team and coaches are very excited to get going with the rest of the season. These two teams are just stepping stones before the final game of the season.
