Emily Vaughn is just your average senior at Heritage High School. She finds joy in helping others around her and never lets go of an opportunity to help her community. Emily is involved in many clubs and organizations around her such as BETA club, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, HOSA, the Legion of Generals, Silverdale Students Ministry, and much more. Being a drum major at Heritage has really shaped Emily’s high school career. With a passion for music, Emily aspires to help make a difference through music. Being a drum major was a result of this desire. In fact, she believes there is nothing better than standing on a sketchy drum major stand under the Friday night lights and listening to her band knock the crowd’s socks off. This is Emily’s first time in Journalism. She wants to be able to write and connect with the students at Heritage High School. She wants to make her articles not just ordinary pieces on current events, but writing that makes a student feel something when he or she reads it. Being a senior, Emily is taking in every moment of her senior year. Though this year may be different due to Covid-19, nothing is going to stop Emily from taking advantage of her last year at Heritage High School.
