The four member pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer has become the new craze for teenage girls everywhere. The Australian band made their debut in 2011 with their first EP “Somewhere New,” and the four teenage boys have built a fan base ever since. After being picked up by the boy band One Direction and touring with them, they released their self-titled debut album in 2014. This caused the small band from Sydney to evolve into a new heartthrob for girls all around the world.

Now, they are on their own tour and are working on their next studio album, “Sounds Good, Feels Good,” which is to be released on October 23, 2015. Their first single off the album, “She’s Kinda Hot,” was released this summer. The highly anticipated song starts out with an acoustic guitar being plucked until the electric guitars and the stomach-churning drum beat come into play. The song is about how people judge other people by what they look like and what paths they choose to go down, when in reality, that person is just as lost as they are.

The next single they released was on August 28, 2015 and is titled “Jet Black Heart.” This single is less upbeat and more personal, bringing in slow guitar solos and lyrics such as “But now that I’m broken / Now that you know it / Caught up in a moment / Can you see inside?”

5SOS has definitely evolved their sound from a pop-punk recreation of Green Day, to a current pop-rock that people can relate to and sing along with in the car. This new album is sure to impress us all. With 17 songs on the track list, and 2 of them already on the charts, I’m positive 5 Seconds of Summer will not disappoint us.
