Being involved in organizations like Beta and the National Honor Society can lead to scholarships, and even if they don’t, it is still nice to be involved in them. In both of them, students get to volunteer and be a part of classic organizations. With invitations being handed out for next year right now, it would be good to look over the requirements for each one. Beta Club is for both juniors and seniors, and to be invited to be in Beta, you have to have an overall A average. To stay in good standing with Beta, you can’t miss more than three of the meetings that are at lunch and you can’t miss projects either. If you do, you will be asked to leave. Four projects have to be completed every year, and these could be things like volunteering to pack meals, bringing things in for different charities, helping a teacher for four hours, or whatever new projects come up. To be invited to National Honor Society, you have to have an average of at least 92. In both of these organizations, grades have to remain high enough to meet the requirements. If you feel like you should be invited and aren’t, the teachers who are in charge of these organizations can talk to you. The teachers for Beta Club are Ms. Wilson, Ms. Hayen, and Ms. Bicknell, but for National Honor Society, the teachers are Ms. Lane, Ms. Zipp, and Ms. Allen.
