EDITORIAL: THIS WAS A GREAT MOVIE, INDEEDY WEEDY

This past weekend a new children’s movie came out in theaters called “Rock Dog” and I absolutely adored it. Without getting too much into it the movie is just what it sounds like it is, it’s a movie about a dog named Bodi who wants to be a rock star, but he has some trouble along the way trying to achieve his dream. I thought this movie was very refreshing because it was a very original idea. The animation and story reminded me a bit of the movie “Kung Fu Panda” and I think that “Rock Dog” was almost as good as “Kung Fu Panda.” However, not everyone felt this way about the movie. When I was in the theater, it was filled with little kids and they all seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. Recently, I feel like a lot of the children’s movies that are coming out are very sub-par, like the movie “Monster Trucks” or “Sing,” and this movie was a very refreshing surprise. It doesn’t make sense to me how someone could dislike this movie; it was very cute and funny. My favorite character was a sassy cat who was a famous rock star that was kind of just over everything. I also like that it’s a movie that can be enjoyed by not only children but adults as well. It’s a pretty chill movie that parents can sit through without being annoyed the whole time.
